Every driver knows just how essential a Mazda oil change is for their vehicle, but did you know there’s more than just one type of oil. At Auto Express Mazda, we offer four different types of motor oil for our oil change service.

Each type of oil suits a specific vehicle and budget. Find out which one is best for you with this guide from our Mazda service team.

1. Conventional

This was once the most common type of oil in cars and is usually the cheapest. Generally, this will work better for vehicles with fairly simple engine systems since this oil has a shorter lifespan than most. With conventional oil, you’ll need an oil change every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.

2. Synthetic

Most recommended to drivers, synthetic oil might be slightly more expensive than conventional oil, but it’s designed to last. Some vehicles will only need their oil changed every 10,000 or so miles. Since this oil is chemically engineered it delivers a cleaner performance with significantly less residue than conventional oil.

3. Synthetic Blend

As the name implies, this oil blends synthetic and conventional oil so that you get the best of both types. More affordable than synthetic, but cleaner than conventional, this oil is a happy medium for drivers who are having a hard time choosing between synthetic and conventional.

4. High Mileage

A fairly uncommon choice, this oil is usually designed for older vehicles with mileage over 75,000. Perfect for classic cars, this oil helps your car perform better by preventing oil leaks and burn off.
